Abstract
Due to the high population density in urban areas worldwide, China - with the world largest population - is facing the increased pressure with respect to resource management as well. In order to sustain its economic growth, China has begun seeking new opportunities and the smart city concept - boasting a potential market value worth trillions of RMB - seems to be an optimal solution to obtain more investment funds from international and Chinese ICT companies.
